Ladies of Storyville

FIGURE SIZE: These figures are 1:12 scale / dollhouse size. For example: The standing lady is 5 and 1/2 inches tall, the base is 51/2 by 4 inches.
Each are porcelain one of a kind figures, for sale and will be shown at Philadelphia Miniaturia in November 2003.

These figures were inspired by photographs in the book "Storyville, New Orleans" by Al Rose (University of Alabama Press / 1974). This book describes the Storyville district in New Orleans around 1900.

Many of the women were photographed by Ernest Bellocq. His photographs stirred my imagination.
